I’m running low on Amer Boudreau. Since Hannaford is having a pretty good sale on big bags of oranges I took that as a I sign that I should get started making another batch.
Now that the orange peels are drying I have a pile of denuded oranges. Which means a bunch of fresh orange juice.
And then, what with all of that juice and all, I figured I might as well make some drinks with it. The weather was nice, there was an empty chair just sitting there in the backyard…
2 1/2 oz Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
2 oz Bourbon
1/2 oz Aperol
1/4 oz Maraschino Liqueur
Build lazily over the remnants of a Caipirinha.
*Quantities are just estimates. I didn’t measure anything on this one. Adjust to taste. Also, I think I mixed in an aging ruby red grapefruit while juicing all of those oranges.
As for the orange hulls…
You know…for the birds. In this case, Orioles, hopefully.
